New life as empty nesters...

Well...Brandon and I have finally made it to this point in life and earned the title "empty nesters".  It was something that we had talked about for years and WE MADE IT!  I had all these wonderful thoughts and plans over the years of what all this would mean and at first, it wasn't all I thought it would be.  I found that it was way too quiet and I had no one left to argue with, blame when my things went missing or anyone to tell what time to be in or ask who they were going with.  I went through a wee bit of a "funk" and I had tears...LOTS of tears.  I needed to get out of this and Brandon had just the plan, we were hittin the road!
After a wonderful weekend birthday celebration with a couple of Brandon's military buddies and a few of our dear friends, we decided to hit the road on a road trip.  It is something that Brandon has been wanting to do, just the two of us!  We had discussed driving out west to Denver and making a huge circle to end at a wedding in New Orleans.  Knowing we only had two weeks, we didn't want to over extend ourselves so...we went to bed on the eve of the trip without any real plan, we were just going to "wing" it and just hit the road.  Bags packed, we woke up on Brandon's birthday and decided we would head to Tennessee, which part? we didn't know.  Brandon being a music lover, I had always wanted to take him to Nashville to walk Music Row, so that was where we headed.  Of course, we didn't decide until after we started driving North.  I had no idea what an AWESOME journey it would turn out to be.
We had so much fun and took so many pictures, I decided that I would write about our journey, the road to begin our new adventure and chapter in life, "Brandon and Laura's Big Adventure"...ENJOY!!!!
